The recent report of Ministry of Industry and Trade showed that in May, electricity produced and imported for the whole system (including rooftop solar power sold into the system) was estimated at 23.3 billion kWh, down 2.4% compared to the same period in 2021. , 1.1 billion kWh lower than planned for power supply and operation power system 2022 of the Ministry.

Accumulating 5 months, the electricity produced and imported for the whole power system is estimated at 108.7 billion kWh, up 4% over the same period in 2021, but 109 million kWh lower than the year plan.

According to calculations by the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), the electricity produced and imported for the entire power system in the remaining 7 months of 2022 is estimated at 166.6 billion kWh.

In the whole year of 2022, the electricity produced and imported for the whole power system is estimated at 275.4 billion kWh, up 7.9% compared to 2021, almost equal to the plan of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Based on the electricity supply situation in the first 5 months of the year and the plan for the remaining months, the Ministry of Industry and Trade affirmed that the electricity supply in 2022 will basically be guaranteed and there will be no power shortage.

To achieve this goal, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requires hydropower plants to concentrate on storing water in hydropower reservoirs to prepare for the dry season in 2022.

In the context of high fuel prices due to the impact of the conflict in Ukraine, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has coordinated with the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh province to direct coal suppliers, and at the same time require investors of coal-fired power plants. have solutions to ensure enough fuel for power generation. At the same time, direct the power units to arrange a reasonable maintenance and repair plan, shorten the maintenance time, and avoid repairing power sources during the peak of heat.

Speeding up the transmission line works, especially the 500 kV and 220 kV transmission lines with additional capacity for the Northern region is also important. In April and May, the 500 kV Vung Ang – Quang Trach – Doc Soi transmission line was energized, and the 220 kV line, circuit 2, Thanh Hoa – Nghi Son – Quynh Luu.
