Analogue Pocket is about to have its first major update
The 1.1 beta update for the Analogue Pocket console is coming a few months later than expected.
According to Engadget, Analogue Pocket finally getting an update that brings some important features that are promising at launch. As The Verge notes, Analogue has announced a beta release of Pocket OS 1.1 in July, adding much-anticipated features like Library, Memories, and FPGA.

Library will become an encyclopedic library for classic games. Just install a cartridge and you’ll be able to learn everything about your copy of the game, including playthroughs and publisher details. Meanwhile, Memories allows to create saves and screenshots. While Analogue hasn’t fully explained the development expansion, it will likely allow programmers to use Pocket’s second FPGA. They will have access to the operating system, hardware, and features like Memories.
Analogue did not mention why update 1.1 took so long to roll out. In December, Analogue said that Library and Memories would be ready in January, however a confusing delay has occurred so far.
However, this good news only comes to players who already own Analogue Pocket. Recent pre-orders will not receive the device until 2023.
