Belarus’ state news agency Belta reported that Lukashenko believed that participants in the “militia” should have a basic knowledge of weapons. He emphasized that “a real man must protect his family when necessary”.

President Lukashenko said: “I think we need a militia, each village council should have a militia group of about 50 people. They should have their weapons somewhere in the warehouse. I am calling on them to participate in training in the use of submachine guns (mainly submachine guns, grenade launchers, firearms) so that they can protect their families, loved ones and themselves.”

Earlier on May 27, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin announced at a meeting with the heads of the regions of the territorial defense forces that Lukashenko had set the task of creating a “popular force”. self-defense force”. At the same time, there are territorial defense forces in present-day Belarus, which is divided into 7 districts.

At the end of May, Mr. Lukashenko said that the Belarusian KGB had conducted “special operations in Ukraine” that “don’t need a shot” to release Belarusian citizens.
