Elon Musk revealed plans to open an overnight Tesla restaurant in Hollywood, with a movie theater and charging station

Elon Musk recently revealed plans to build an all-night Tesla restaurant, including an outdoor movie theater and charging station.

The restaurant will have two indoor and outdoor 13-meter LED screens for customers to park their cars to watch movies, along with 28 supercharge stations so guests can charge their cars while relaxing.

Musk has previously said that Tesla-branded drive-in restaurants will likely be built around its charging stations. In February, Elon Musk also further revealed that the restaurant will accept payment in Dogecoin. Tesla first shared the idea in 2018 and last year filed for three trademarks related to entering the restaurant business.

Tesla originally planned to build the restaurant in the coastal city of Santa Monica but later moved to 7001 W. Santa Monica Avenue in Hollywood, California (USA).

Tesla plans to demolish a Shakey’s Pizza on the current site and build a new two-story restaurant on the site.

There is already a large car park on the nearly 900 square meter site but will need to be remodeled to add 28 more supercharger stations.

The ground floor will include a kitchen, chairs and booths and an outdoor bar, while the top floor will have outdoor seating and an area for cinema-style seating.

Downstairs there will also be a sales area for customers sitting in the car, for employees to bring food to the vehicles in the parking lot. There will be more than 200 seats in total.

While Tesla wants the site to be open 24 hours a day, it may not be open all night, depending on demand and conditions.

There are no details yet on the opening date or the menus that the Tesla restaurant offers. Billionaire founder of Tesla and SpaceX submitted new proposals to the city of Los Angeles late last month
