Exquisite earrings Princess Kate wears in gratitude to her mother-in-law

In the Trooping the Color parade to open the Platinum Celebration series to celebrate the 70th year of the Queen’s reign, Princess Kate wore a simple, elegant white dress. She completed her outfit with the most delicate earrings. According to Harper Bazaar, this is the same jewelry that Princess Diana wore at the 1996 Met Gala and many other events.

The pair of sapphire and diamond earrings that Princess Kate wore were once paired by her mother-in-law with a navy blue dress and a sapphire and pearl necklace. As for Kate, she wears a blue Philip Treacy hat with white trim, and on her hand is a 12-carat Ceylon sapphire ring that also belonged to Princess Diana. The ring was made by British jeweler Garrard and was the engagement ring of Prince Charles for her. When the princess died, the ring was passed on to her sons. In 2010, Prince William used it to propose to Princess Kate.
