Farmed shrimp exports grow strongly

According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, from the beginning of the year until now, shrimp exports have maintained a high growth rate of 35%. The US continues to be the largest shrimp import market of Vietnam with the proportion accounting for more than 20%, followed by the Chinese market.

Seafood exports, especially shrimp, to Europe, Japan, South Korea and many other markets recorded double-digit growth in the first months of 2022.

It is forecasted that seafood exports in the second quarter will reach $2.8-3 billion, up about 36 to 38% over the same period in 2021. Vietnam’s shrimp exports this year will grow steadily thanks to demand from markets The market is still good and preferential from the Free Trade Agreement. If the situation is favorable, shrimp export turnover for the whole year can reach a growth rate of 10%.
