Foreign workers are allowed to practice beauty care in Japan

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will allow foreigners to work in this field according to national regulations.

According to the announcement, foreign nationals currently holding a student visa, equipped with skills in the field of beauty care and stylist at cosmetology schools in Japan, will be allowed to work in this field for about 5 years to accumulate experience.

Thus, from October 1, foreign students who meet the skill requirements will be able to work at beauty salons with a specific visa type prescribed by the government.
