Mr. Nguyen Huy Hung, General Director of Nhue River Irrigation Development Investment One Member Limited Liability Company, said the pumping station was still operating in accordance with the process and regulations. The lack of water to operate at full capacity is mainly due to the unfinished construction of the La Khe canal system, 5.7 km long, taking water from the Nhue River to the Day River, which is under construction, causing limited flow.

La Khe water channel located in the investment project to improve the drainage system in the West of Hanoi with an investment of more than 7,464 billion VND, passing through Ha Dong and Hoai Duc districts. Mr. Nguyen Tien Thinh, La Khe ward, said that since the beginning of the year, the section of the canal leading through his door has not been built. La Khe bridge over the canal has been built, but there is still no path for people to travel.

A leader of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the La Khe water canal could not be completed on schedule due to site clearance problems. Although Hoai Duc district has handed over 100%, Ha Dong district has just received more than 162,000 m2 of the total 307,000 m2, missing more than 144,000 m2 related to 593 organizations and families.

In order for the project to be completed in 2022 at the request of the city, the Department has asked Ha Dong district to speed up the site clearance. Leaders of this district said that they are actively directing and mobilizing people to comply with the policy on compensation and site clearance. In case of necessity, the county may have to enforce.

Mr. Trinh Ngoc Son, Deputy General Director of Hanoi Sewerage and Sewerage Company Limited, said that the urban drainage system in the western area of ​​Hanoi can only withstand 50mm of rain per day. “Water is still mainly self-draining, self-flowing, highly dependent on the Nhue river water level,” said Mr. Son, asking the city to soon complete the construction of a drainage system.
