High-speed train accident in China, one person died

A Chinese high-speed train crashed into an obstacle and derailed in Guizhou province, killing the driver and injuring at least eight people.

High-speed train D2809, running from Guiyang province in southwestern China to Guangzhou province, derailed in Guizhou province at 10:30 a.m. this morning (9:30 a.m. Hanoi time), after hitting an obstacle object fell on the track due to a landslide.

The driver of the train was dead. One flight attendant and seven passengers were injured, but not life-threatening.

Photos published on many Chinese media outlets show that the train’s cockpit was severely damaged by the collision, while the rest of the train was almost intact. Many passengers and children screamed in the carriages after the accident. Food and belongings were strewn across the floor of an undamaged carriage.

CCTV said all passengers had been evacuated from the ship and the cause of the incident was under further investigation.

In recent years, fatal accidents have rarely occurred on the railway network of Chinahome to the world’s largest high-speed transport system.

However, in 2017, 12 workers died in an explosion while constructing a high-speed rail tunnel in Guizhou. In 2011, a high-speed train accident in the eastern Chinese city of Wenzhou killed about 40 people, sparking accusations that authorities failed to ensure safety rules as they rushed to expand the network. this.
