To speed up the progress, the Prime Minister sent a telegram requesting to strengthen support for workers. The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs also sent an official dispatch requesting the People’s Committees of provinces and cities to accelerate the completion by August 2022.

At the end of March, the Government issued Decision 08 on the implementation of policies to support about VND 6,600 billion in rent for 3.4 million workers. Two groups of beneficiaries include people who have labor contracts, pay social insurance premiums, are working in enterprises, and those who return to the labor market, working in industrial parks, export processing zones, economic zones, 24 provinces and cities in the country. 4 key economic regions.

Renting workers will receive support from 500,000 to 1 million VND per month, up to 3 months. The policy implementation period is from April 1 to August 15, 2022. However, as of June 3, only 19 provinces and cities have received rent support documents from businesses. More than 2,000 businesses have submitted applications with nearly 46,500 employees, with a total amount of 33.2 billion VND.

The documents that have been appraised and approved are 319 enterprises with about 21,400 employees, amounting to VND 25.4 billion. Disbursed documents are 100 enterprises with 6,300 employees, 3.16 billion VND (Hanoi 1.7 billion VND, Ca Mau more than 1.4 billion VND and Quang Ninh 27.5 million VND).

According to the Employment Department (under the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs), Decision 08 will take effect from March 28, 2022, but if employees rent accommodation between February 1 and June 30, 2022 still enjoy the policy when eligible. Employees who are on maternity leave, taking sick leave for 14 working days or more in a month, even though they do not participate in social insurance but are still on the list of compulsory social insurance contributions, are still eligible. support event.
