The Nepalese military found the location of the plane carrying 22 passengers and 3 crew members that crashed while flying from Pokhara to Jomsom.

Reuters news agency on May 30 reported the army Nepali located the crash site of a passenger plane that had lost contact with air traffic control the day before.

“Search and rescue soldiers have located the plane,” Nepal’s army spokesman Narayan Silwal said on Twitter, with a photo of the wreckage with the tail number clearly visible.

The plane of Tara Air (Nepal) went missing on May 29, after taking off from the city travel Pokhara to Jomsom 80 km away, carrying 22 passengers.

The flight was expected to last 20 minutes and the plane lost contact 10 minutes before landing. The fate of the passengers and crew is unknown.

ANI News reported that the missing plane was the Twin Otter Made in Canada, with model number 9N-AET.

Flights from Pokhara to Jomsom fly over the mountains before landing in a valley. It is a popular area for expats who enjoy hiking in the mountains and is also the place where Indian and Nepali pilgrims visit the sacred Muktinath temple.
