Putin dismisses 5 Russian generals
Russian media reported that President Vladimir Putin this week fired several generals and a police colonel.
According to the Russian newspaper Pravda, Mr Putin recently signed a decree dismissing five generals including Major Generals Vasily Kukushkin, Alexander Laas, Andrey Lipilin, Alexander Udovenko and Yuri Instrankin as well as Police Colonel Emil Musin.
A source close to the Russian Interior Ministry confirmed this.

Pravda, citing sources from the Russian news agency RBC, noted that the decision was part of the usual personnel reshuffle process in the country of birch.
However, the move caught attention when Russia was said to be suffering many losses in terms of generals and commanders in the country fight in a neighboring country.
