Russia claims to have achieved some results in its military operation in Ukraine

“Many areas have been liberated from Ukrainian neo-Nazi forces and now people there can begin to return to normal life. These efforts will be continued until we achieve all the objectives in the special military operation“, Mr. Peskov said on June 3.

The Kremlin spokesman added that the protection of people in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic and the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic is a key goal and “relevant measures are being taken”.

Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24 with the statement of precision strikes on military targets in order to “demilitarize” and “de-fascist” Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin also emphasized that this operation is aimed at protecting the people of two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine from the risk of a general attack by the Ukrainian army.

Regarding the military situation, Ukrainian President Zelensky said that Russia controls 20% of Ukraine’s territory. In a video address to lawmakers in Luxembourg, Zelensky added that the frontline area had stretched for more than 1,000 kilometers.

“All combat-ready forces of the Russian army took part in this attack”, emphasized Mr. Zelensky.
