Smart dog specializes in garbage collection to protect the environment

The character that inspired this campaign is Sam – a 5-year-old dog. It all started when Sam and his owner, Gonzalo Chiang, stopped many times in the greenest area of ​​the city to pick up plastic bottles, masks, food packaging. In April alone, the two picked up 602 masks, 585 bottles and 304 cans.

Eduardo Villalobos – Acting Director of Parquemet Park said: “Visitors like Gonzalo Chiang and his dog Sam have inspired the management to accelerate public awareness raising and the implementation of garbage separation. “.

Impressed by Sam’s actions, the Parquemet park staff decided to use the dog’s image in an environmental campaign in the park. The dog became a character in the comic book: “Sam: Park Hero” to send a message to remind visitors not to litter but use one of 40 recycling points throughout the park.

Mr. Gonzalo Chiang – Sam’s owner said: “The artist has portrayed Sam and the message very well, the park is not a place to come and litter. You should bring it to the recycling point.”

The image of Sam has spread unexpectedly widely in many schools and even on social networks in Chile as a hero to protect the environment.
