This is the first fraud on the NFT digital asset market discovered in the US.
During his time as OpenSea’s chief product officer last year, according to federal prosecutors, Nathaniel Chastain secretly purchased dozens of NFTs that were about to be listed on the platform’s homepage. Subject then resells for 2-5 times the original price after these properties are listed.
Subject Nathaniel Chastain was arrested on charges of fraud and money laundering.
