The higher the test score, the lower the priority score will be

In the draft Regulation on University enrollment in 2022, recently released by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry stipulates that the regional priority plus points apply only to the five candidates graduating from high school (or intermediate level), while those who have graduated from high school are only eligible to apply for the award. Students who have graduated from high school (freelance candidates) when retaking the exam to get results of university and college admissions will not be given priority points in the region (like candidates in area 3). With this regulation, free candidates in area 1 will lose 0.75 points; rural area 2 lost 0.5 points; area 2 loses 0.25 points.

However, recently, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son said that through analysis of exam data and study results, the spectrum of scores in 4 enrollment areas of candidates, the Ministry has realized some irrationalities in adding regional priority.

Therefore, the Ministry of Education and Training expects that from the good score (test score), the candidate’s priority score will be adjusted in a linear downward direction. As for what level is considered good, the Ministry still considers.

Mr. Son, for example, if you take the 24 point mark, then the candidates who get 24 points in 3 subjects or less will still enjoy the same priority points as today (KV1 plus 0.75 points; KV2 NT plus 0.5 points). …). But if a candidate reaches 25 points, they will only get 5/6 priority points, 27 points will only be 3/6… Candidates who get 30 points will no longer get priority points. Thus, there will be no point of review exceeding 30, the competition will be fairer for industries with high scores. But this regulation will apply to the enrollment period in 2023. As for the enrollment period in 2022, the priority score will remain the same as the old regulation.

Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son also said that the ministry is considering allowing candidates to enjoy priority by time or by year. If by time, the candidate is only entitled to 1 priority; According to the year, the Ministry will stipulate that candidates can only receive priority points for 2 consecutive years, from the year the candidates graduate from high school. However, this regulation will also be implemented from the application season in 2023.
