The US prepares to vaccinate children under 5 years of age for Covid-19

The final timeline is up to the discretion of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as well as the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

According to the newspaper The Washington Postthe FDA’s independent advisory group is scheduled to discuss the use of Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines in children younger than 5 years old on June 14 and 15.

After this session, if the vaccine is approved by the FDA and recommended for use by the CDC, the government will begin distributing the product to the states. There are about 19 million children under the age of 5 in the United States, and most shots will be given in the pediatrician’s office.

In South Korea, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo on June 3 announced a plan to lift the 7-day quarantine for unvaccinated foreign tourists from June 8. This is also the time when Korea lifted all restrictions on international flights at Incheon International Airport.

However, the Korean government still requires passengers to provide negative PCR test results before entry and within 72 hours of entry.

Meanwhile, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said on June 3 that their country recorded more than 82,160 “fever cases” after 24 hours. The above information was announced in the context of North Korea implementing a nationwide blockade order to deal with the first wave of Covid-19 infections.
