Another bloody shooting in the US, 3 dead and 11 injured

Police officers were patrolling South Street in downtown Philadelphia when they heard several gunshots. They also witnessed several suspects open fire on the crowd shortly before midnight on June 4, Police Inspector DF Pace said at a news conference.

An officer shot at one of the suspects from about 30 meters away. The suspect dropped the gun and fled, but it is unclear if he was hit by a bullet, Pace said.

“Hundreds of people were having fun on South Street as they do every weekend when this shooting happened,” Pace said.

Two men and a woman were shot multiple times and died in the shooting, Pace said. The names of the victims were not made public by the authorities. The condition of those injured by the bullets is still unknown.

Police said two semi-automatic handguns were recovered, including one with an extended magazine. No arrest warrants have been issued.

Mr. Pace added that police are asking to review surveillance footage from enterprise near the scene. As of the morning of June 5, the roads near the shooting were still closed.

The police department posted on Twitter asking people to stay away from the area. South Street is home to many entertainment venues, nightlife with bars, restaurants and establishments business.

This shooting is the latest in a series of shootings that are rocking the country America in recent times.
