Instagram officially updated the Avatar feature, and here’s how you can enable it
If you regularly use Facebook, the Facebook Avatar feature is probably not too strange to you. This is a feature that allows users to create a 3D animated version of themselves. This feature is similar to Apple’s Memoji, or Snapchat’s Bitmoji. Once you’ve created it, you can use your animated version as your profile picture, sticker, or emoji in the comments or in Messenger.

And recently, Instagram has also officially updated this new Avatar feature to all its users. If you are interested, here is the guide for you.

First, update your existing Instagram app to the latest version from the App Store. Then go to the account page and click “Edit profile”, then continue to click “Create avatar”.

The initialization page will appear, please press “Start” and select “Skin Color” for your character.

To make the design more convenient, you can turn on the front camera to customize the character to resemble the contours of your face.

There are quite a few Avatar creation options, and they’re all organized into very specific groups.

Once you’ve finished designing, click “Done”.

And click “Save Changes” to save the design. The application will then proceed to create a complete Avatar according to your designs.

After initialization is complete, you will be asked if you want to sync your Instagram profile information with Facebook. If there is no need, click “Other time”. The purpose of this is for both social media accounts to be synchronized with each other, and you can use this new Avatar set on both platforms.

If you want to edit or delete your Avatar, go to “Edit avatar” and click on the trash can icon.

As mentioned above, when you select “Sync Instagram and Facebook accounts” together, you will be able to use this newly created Avatar set on both platforms, including on Messenger.
Good luck.
