Attending the Vietnam Economic Forum were Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, Politburo member, Head of the Central Economic Commission; Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung; Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phuc; Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong; Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Phan Van Mai; leaders of departments, ministries, branches, central and local agencies; representatives of embassies and international organizations in Vietnam.

The Vietnam Economic Forum (VEF) is an annual event hosted by the Central Economic Commission since 2017.

In 2022, in order to have a basis to advise the Central Committee, which is directly the Politburo and the Secretariat, on major undertakings and policies on socio-economic development, with the consent of the Standing Committee of the Secretariat. Secretary and the Prime Minister, the Central Economic Committee chaired and coordinated with the Government and the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to organize the 4th Vietnam Economic Forum with the theme: “Building an independent economy , autonomy associated with extensive economic integration in the new situation” in the form of direct and online combination.

The building of an independent and self-reliant economy, associated with active and proactive international integration, is a matter that has been mentioned by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at many domestic and foreign forums. .

In particular, during his working visit to the United States in mid-May, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited, spoke and attended a policy seminar at Harvard University, with the main topic of economic development. independence, self-reliance, associated with proactive and active international integration in depth, substance and effectiveness in Vietnam.

At this VEF’s seminars, delegates discussed developing a stable labor supply chain after the COVID-19 pandemic, capital and real estate market development, and technological innovation. , digital transformation and supply chain diversification.
