On June 5, the People’s Committee of Hue City (Thua Thien Hue) coordinated with the German Development Cooperation Agency and Vietsoftpro Joint Stock Company to organize the opening of a pilot model of a public shared bicycle system.

System public shared bicycles in Hue City was born with the criteria of being environmentally friendly, convenient for tourists and residents to pick up and return cars at various points in Hue City, suitable for short travel distances. This is a new urban transport solution to help residents and tourists switch to a more sustainable mode of transport.
The project will be implemented from June 2022 to December 2023 and is divided into 3 phases. Phase 1 (from June to December 2022) piloting a smart public bike sharing route in the city with 7 stations located on both banks of the Perfume River and in the Citadel area. Those are the stations: Eo Bau Nam Xuong, Eo Bau Nam Thang, Nguyen Van Troi Park, Toa Kham boat station, Nghinh Luong Dinh Park, Ho Chi Minh Museum car park and 11 Le Loi. Each station will have 10-20 bicycles.

Phase 2 (from December 2022 to June 2023) will pilot a bicycle system on a large scale with 19-20 stations. Phase 3 (from June 2023 to December 2023) will pilot the overall system operation, integrate application features and manage, operate and maintain a stable running system.
