According to the master plan, Quang Nam’s goal by 2030 will be to become a well-developed province of the whole country. By 2050, Quang Nam will become a fully developed civilized and modern province, with all people belonging to the middle and well-off classes of Vietnamese society.

However, Quang Nam province still faces many disadvantages in terms of development linkages. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Luu Duc Cuong, Director of the National Institute of Urban and Rural Planning, said that Quang Nam province needs to take advantage of the advantages from the land base, industry and tourism to guide development planning. However, at present, Quang Nam province still faces many difficulties in applying 4.0 technology, has not exploited many urban economic fields, so the implementation of the plans has not been synchronized.

“In the future, Quang Nam province needs to focus on four main pillars: tourism – industry, trade – logictics and high-tech agriculture. Along with that, set a goal to develop strongly by 2030. in the fields of processing and manufacturing industries, make full use of FTAs ​​and clearly aim at green industry and high-tech agriculture,” suggested Mr. Luu Duc Cuong.

Commenting on the planning, Dr. Tran Ngoc Anh said that Quang Nam province needs to show a leadership role in direction and implementation. Currently, the province needs to build a team of enthusiastic and visionary leaders; along with that is the next team. In particular, it is necessary to highlight the role of the administrative and management system in the work.

“Besides, Quang Nam province needs to focus on planning the development of two economic clusters that are Hoi An tourism cluster and Chu Lai industrial cluster. Therefore, the province needs to work with businesses to expand and upgrade. business and production, especially inviting leading enterprises to participate in the development of key economic sectors”, Mr. Anh said.

Tran Ba ​​Duong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Truong Hai Automobile Joint Stock Company (THACO), said that when THACO invested in Quang Nam, the first thing when manufacturing here was to invest in logistics, seaports and construction of seaports to welcome them. ships of 50,000 tons. Therefore, when solving the logistics problem, Quang Nam will become a production area and form a car production area.

According to Mr. Duong, Quang Nam province needs to continue to invest strongly in the field of logicics for general economic development. In particular, the Prime Minister’s approval of the investment policy of Chu Lai port in the form of PPP is a great advantage that few localities have. It is expected that when the project comes into operation, it will help businesses in Quang Nam and surrounding areas save a lot of logistics costs.

“Quang Nam also needs to have more agricultural deep processing industry. From synchronous industrial development with logictics, Quang Nam will become the production area of ​​the region, thereby attracting more investors to come to Quang Nam. localities, contributing to bringing the local economy to the same level as big cities across the country and the region,” said Mr. Duong.
