Regarding the teaching and learning of History at the high school level, recently, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked the agencies to continue to seriously listen to the opinions of the people and experts; summarizing practice, research and processing; take timely solutions, both ensuring the guidelines and regulations of the Party and the laws of the State, and being suitable to reality; meet the wishes of the people and experts as well as the requirements to improve the quality of teaching and learning history.

The Prime Minister suggested that it may be prescribed in the direction of History subject which has both compulsory and elective parts.

According to the head of the Government, cultural and historical traditions are also a resource, investment in cultural and historical education is an investment in development. With policies affecting the entire people and the legitimate interests of the people, it is necessary to be very careful, research and calculate carefully.

Earlier, on June 2, the Prime Minister also issued a “hot” directive on History subject in the high school program, which requested the Ministry of Education and Training to urgently organize a workshop with relevant agencies and units. officials, experts, scientists to discuss thoroughly, comprehensively evaluate to propose appropriate plans, and at the same time report to Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam; do better communication work so that society is more fully updated with the Party’s guidelines and the State’s laws in history education for students.
