The US president had to evacuate because a strange plane entered the wrong no-fly zone

According to RT (Russia), the US Secret Service said the security incident happened around noon on June 5, when President Joe Biden and his wife were spending the weekend at the family’s apartment on Rehoboth Beach, the state of Delaware. A small private plane mistakenly flew into the security zone set up around the house. The agency said the plane was immediately escorted out of restricted airspace.

President Joe Biden and his wife were brought to a safe location shortly, apparently to a nearby fire station. All traffic in the area was halted for more than 20 minutes while Secret Service agents inspected the area and understood the possible threat.

CBS News reporter Bo Erickson said he saw two military jets flying low over the town’s beach after spotting the strange plane. A local resident told Erickson he saw a small white plane flying near the President’s beach apartment at around 12:45am.

The Secret Service said a preliminary investigation found that the pilot was not on the appropriate radio channel and was not following published flight instructions. The agency announced it would question the pilot.

The President’s motorcade returned to the apartment after investigators concluded there was no ongoing security threat. The White House official concluded: “All indications are that the aircraft entered the no-fly zone by accident. We are still taking precautions. The President and his family are not in danger.”

US military aircraft and coast guard helicopters are commonly used to intercept any aircraft that enter the restricted area around the president’s location. The intercepted planes will be escorted to a nearby airport. Here, the crew will be questioned by law enforcement and may face criminal or civil penalties.

According to officials, President Biden’s family celebrated First Lady Jill Biden’s birthday at this apartment for the second time in a row. The Federal Aviation Administration issued temporary flight restrictions in the area from the night of June 2 to the morning of June 5.

The Bidens regularly visit their apartment in Wilmington, Delaware, and their Rehoboth Beach estate for short stays. According to reports, they spent a total of 16 days at the beach house during five vacations during Biden’s first year in office.

Last fall, the US government awarded a contract worth nearly $500,000 to build a security fence around the President’s Rehoboth Beach apartment. Since March, the project has remained on hold as it awaits approval of the regulations needed to build the fence higher than is normally allowed in the city.
