Winona Ryder muse continues to shine in new Marc Jacobs design-Fashion Trends
Reinterpreting the grunge era with a modern twist, Marc Jacobs introduces Winona Ryder for his new campaign. Filmed in Los Angeles, earlier this year, the campaign was designed by Emma Wyman and photographed by Harley Weir.
Maintaining a long and strong friendship, Winona and Marc Jacobs have shared many iconic fashion moments throughout the years. Ryder first developed a relationship with the fashion house in the wake of the scandal after she was found guilty of stealing a Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2001 dress, among other things, from Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills. After the incident and several courtroom appearances, Jacobs made her the face of the fashion house’s spring 2003 ad campaign by Juergen Teller. Since then, Winona has continued to be the familiar face and final muse of Marc Jacobs.
Despite wearing these tops in an archival collection that includes subversive and post-punk designs, Winona is now the face of Marc Jacobs’ new high-end and luxury bag. The J Marc shoulder bag is handcrafted from supple leather and features the brand’s signature interlocking J buckle. The bag can be carried three ways as a clutch, crossbody with a fabric strap or as a shoulder bag. The chunky chain strap is inspired by the fashion house’s Stam bag, named after model Jessica Stam; Fans of the element brand will be delighted to see this return.
