At the procession, the Gold State Coach that carried the Queen to Westminster Abbey on the day of her coronation in 1953 appeared in public for the first time in 20 years.

The 3km procession included a performance along the Mall leading to Buckingham Palace by dancers dressed in 1950s garb, depicting the decades of the Queen’s 70 years of reign.

Platinum Celebration is the 4th anniversary of the Queen’s accession to the throne following Silver, Gold and Diamond celebrations in 1977, 2002 and 2012, marking 25, 50 and 60 years of the Queen’s reign. .
