Bus falls into gorge, killing 26 people in India

The car carrying 30 people on the way to the pilgrimage had a tragic accident. Rescue workers rushed to the scene to pull the bodies out and search for survivors. The injured were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The state of Uttarakhand, home to beautiful natural scenery and some of the holiest sites in Hinduism, welcomes millions of pilgrims each year. However, the mountain road network is poorly maintained and very dangerous.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent condolences and announced urgent assistance to the families of the bereaved.
