“Several explosions have occurred in the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts of the capital Kiev,” Klitschko wrote on the Telegram messaging app.

Ukraine accuses Russia of increasing troops in Sievierodonetsk

Ukraine’s military said that Russia has sent reinforcements to continue efforts to gain control of the city of Sievierodonetsk in Ukraine’s Donbass region and is carrying out “attack operations” with artillery on the city.

But according to Reuters news agency, the Ukrainian military said that Russian forces had to withdraw after failing to capture the nearby town of Bakhmut.

Earlier, the governor of Luhansk province, Serhiy Haidai, told state television that the Ukrainian army had recaptured 20% of the territory in the city of Sievierodonetsk from Russia. Haidai said the Russian military had previously held about 70 percent of the city. According to him, it is likely that the city will be occupied by Russian troops in the next two weeks.
