How to improve dry nose and sinuses

Drinking a lot of water, spraying physiological saline, equipped with a humidifier… can improve humidity when the nose and sinuses are dry.

A dry nose and sinuses can cause stuffy noses when breathing, mucus in the nose, and nosebleeds. Maintaining the right humidity for the nose and sinuses is the solution to keeping the respiratory system healthy, according to the sheet Very Well Health.

Mucous membrane of the nose – the lining of the sinuses and a moisturizer for the sinuses, helps the natural mucus to circulate in the nose, removing dirt and bacteria from the nasal passages. When the weather is dry, the mucous membranes will dry out, leading to mucus that is difficult to move, causing problems for the airways. Other health problems that also increase the risk of dry nasal passages and sinuses include Sjogren’s syndrome, which causes dry eyes, throat and mouth problems, and joint pain. The body is often lack of water and allergens are also the cause of dry airways.

Patients with dry nose and sinuses often experience symptoms such as rhinitis and sinusitis; stuffy nose or choking; dry mouth and nose; headache. Inflammation and congestion of the nose can lead to a sinus infection that makes it worse. If your symptoms don’t go away or you suspect an infection in your nasal passages and sinuses, seek medical attention early. Some of the following ways are recommended to help you improve your dry nose and sinuses.

Always drink enough water

People with dry nose and sinuses should limit drinking alcoholic beverages – agents that cause dehydration for the body. Staying hydrated is a natural solution to help thin mucus and improve symptoms of dry airways, while improving musculoskeletal function. You should try to keep the habit of drinking more water in the summer, especially when participating in exercise or working in the hot sun. If you are not used to it, you can initially squeeze fresh lemon juice into filtered water to add flavor or drink electrolyte drinks.

Use a humidifier

You can improve symptoms of dry nose and sinuses by using a humidifier while you sleep. This device helps to humidify the air, gradually improving the function of the mucous membranes, reducing inflammation of the nose and sinuses, and preventing other respiratory problems. You should note to use distilled water when turning on the machine, regularly clean to prevent bacteria from arising in the machine.
