The iPhone 14 model launched in September will be upgraded by Apple to 6GB RAM compared to only 4GB like in the iPhone 13.
According to a report from TrendForceiPhone 14 Pro models will be upgraded to faster and more power-efficient LPDDR5 RAM, while other models iPhone 14″ and the standard iPhone 14 Max is expected to use LPDDR4X RAM on par with the iPhone 13 Pro.
If reporting from TrendForce is correct, this year’s iPhone 14 series will be equipped with RAM when compared to iPhone 13 as follows:
iPhone 13 Mini: 4GB (LPDDR4X)
iPhone 13: 4GB (LPDDR4X)
iPhone 13 Pro: 6GB (LPDDR4X)
iPhone 13 Pro Max: 6GB (LPDDR4X)
iPhone 14: 6GB (LPDDR4X)
iPhone 14 Max: 6GB (LPDDR4X)
iPhone 14 Pro: 6GB (LPDDR5)
iPhone 14 Pro Max: 6GB (LPDDR5)
Famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also previously stated that all four iPhone 14 models will be equipped with 6GB RAM and iPhone 14 Pro models will be upgraded to LPDDR5 RAM type.
TrendForce also adds that the iPhone 14 Pro models will have internal storage starting at 256GB, compared to 128GB. However, this information is not certain.
As previously rumored, two features that are expected to be exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro models are an upgraded 48MP rear camera lens and an A16 chip. The standard iPhone 14 models are expected to use the iPhone 13’s A15 chip.
