Meanwhile, the US Navy mobilized the nuclear aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, the cruiser USS Antietam, the destroyer USS Benfold equipped with Aegis missile systems and the supply ship USNS Big Horn to participate in bilateral exercises. .

Earlier, on June 1, the Korean Foreign Ministry announced that the country and the US had agreed to quickly hold a vice-ministerial economic dialogue to review the implementation of the agreement reached at the summit. recent summit between the leaders of the two countries.

The decision was reached at the first online meeting between Korea’s 2nd Deputy Foreign Minister Lee Do-hoon and US Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and Environment Jose W. Fernandez. However, the ministry did not provide a specific timeframe for the High-Level Economic Dialogue, a consultation channel established with the US State Department in 2015 and most recently held in December 2021. The upcoming dialogue aims to check the progress of implementing agreements reached at the summit between South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and his US counterpart Joe Biden on May 21.
