Korea tests missile in response to North Korea

South Korea’s military said eight missiles were fired into the country’s eastern seaboard on the morning of June 6. The move was in response to North Korea’s missile launch a day earlier.

The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said the missiles were fired from the surface-to-surface tactical missile system (ATACMS) within 10 minutes.

“The joint firing of surface-to-surface missiles by South Korea and the United States demonstrates the ability to carry out precision strikes in response to provocations. Our military strongly condemns the series of missile provocations,” he said.
