Defendant Le Thu Van (SN 1957), originally from Bui Huu Nghia ward, Binh Thuy district, Can Tho city; registered place of permanent residence in Bui Huu Nghia ward, Binh Thuy district and Tan Phuoc area, Thuan Hung ward, Thot Not district, Can Tho city; residence at number 191A, Lap Thanh hamlet, Hoa Khanh Tay commune.

This defendant is the biological mother of three defendants Nhi Nguyen, Hoan Nguyen and Nhat Nguyen. The accused’s husband is currently unknown.

According to the investigation conclusion, in 2014, Cao Thi Cuc from Can Duoc district, Long An province to Lap Thanh hamlet, Hoa Khanh Tay commune bought a house and moved her household registration here to build and repair as an illegal religious site.

In 2015, Le Tung Van sold his house in District 6, Ho Chi Minh City and then along with the defendants Hoan Nguyen, Nhat Nguyen, Trung Duong, Le Thu Van, Nhi Nguyen and some others moved to live in Mrs. Cuc’s household. During his life, Le Tung Van himself named the defendant Cuc’s household name “Bong Lai Pure House”, and at the beginning of January 2020, it was changed to “Zen am on the bank of the universe”.

From 2019-2021, under the mastermind and direction of Le Tung Van, Hoan Nguyen, Nhat Nguyen, Trung Duong, Le Thu Van (SN 1957), Nhi Nguyen, Cao Thi Cuc, Le Thu Van and some others proceed to create Youtube accounts, carry out activities of filming, staging, editing clips and then posting them on social networks in order for many people to view, comment, share, subscribe and spread quickly.

In which, many clips contain content that distorts and insults the reputation of agencies and organizations; honor and dignity of the individual. Notably, the defendants engaged in the act of gathering to cause trouble, illegally filming at the Duc Hoa district police headquarters and distorting and insulting the reputation of this agency; then edit the clip content to post on social networks for many people to view, share and comment on.

On January 3, the Investigation Police Agency of Duc Hoa District Public Security Department issued a decision to prosecute the case “Abusing freedom and democracy to infringe upon the interests of the state, organizations and individuals” that occurred in Tinh Tinh. Bong Lai Palace”.

At the same time, the investigative agency ordered the arrest of the accused for temporary detention for Hoan Nguyen, Nhat Nguyen and Trung Duong. Particularly, defendant Tung Van was banned from leaving the place of residence.

At the end of February 2022, the People’s Procuracy of Duc Hoa district has decided to transfer the case to the Security Investigation Agency of Long An Province Police for investigation according to its competence. From here, 3 defendants Le Thu Van, Cao Thi Cuc and Nhi Nguyen were respectively prosecuted, in which defendants Cuc and Nhi Nguyen were arrested and detained; Defendant Thu Van has not yet identified his whereabouts.
