Leaving the salary of thousands of dollars at Philips (Netherlands), continuing to study in the UK for a master’s degree

Female masters in Vietnam… selling jewelry

After 6 years of efforts and study journey in the Netherlands, France and the UK, in October 2021, Chau decided to return home with the desire to build her own designer jewelry brand. From her love of jewelry when she was a little girl, to once accidentally looking at stone necklace designs on the Internet in 2018, this fate led Chau to the path of starting a business.

“I accidentally saw an article about the product introduction of a stone ring online and personally found it a bit expensive, so I bought a separate stone in Europe and made the ring myself. Then I asked my friends in In the Netherlands, if anyone needs it, I will help them make the ring. It’s mainly to help, but not to sell anything. Gradually, I started my own online business of self-designed stone rings. At that time, I had just completed my master’s degree, worked at Philips until the end of the contract, and sold handmade jewelry online. At that time, the idea of starting a business appeared in my mind, but I did not have enough capital to open a shop by myself. private goods”Chau recalled.

Born in a family with a tradition of academic research, although at first it was not supported, even faced with opposition from her family, but the young girl born in 1995 was still determined to follow the path of business. “My family was not very supportive of my business, so at first I had to manage my own capital to open a shop. After building a stable career on my own at the beginning, my parents helped me a little. Jewelry business requires quite a lot of capital because this is a high-end fashion industry, so at first I had a lot of trouble when I had to do everything myself.

I want everyone to have access to this high fashion field. I understand that, when it comes to gemstone jewelry, people will often think of two words “expensive”. Knowing that mentality, I decided to create products from quality natural stone but the price must be “soft” to be suitable for all subjects from students – students to working people. Since I have more than 4 years of experience, I am completely confident in giving customers the best experience.” Chau shared.

With a little capital accumulated from years of working at Philips, Chau started a business, creating her own brand with designer jewelry with a variety of unique designs and colors, designed by herself. Design based on learning experiences and observations from European cultures. She owns a jewelry store with her own color in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City’s name is Golden River Jewelry. All stages from design ideas, brand promotion, product marketing strategies… are handled by Chau himself. Products are rekindled from the desire to bring people of all ages to have access to this high fashion field, with prices ranging from a few tens of thousands to several million per product.

Wishing to spread the Vietnamese brand more to friends from other countries

As a daredevil, with a strong belief in himself, Chau hopes that he can contribute a little to his homeland with Vietnamese-branded stone jewelry products that reach out to your country. “As a child of Vietnam, I want to do something that can contribute to the economic development of my country.”

The special thing about Chau’s products is that the silver and stone jewelry has a fairly new design and has a Western style, in which, natural gemstones are imported by herself from Europe.. “I have traveled to many European countries and found that the stone jewelry designs in these countries are very beautiful. I have learned and observed a lot of things from these countries, so my products are always up to date. This is quite different from other Asian-style Vietnamese jewelry products. I think that, in order to reach out to other markets, I have to try to create a the newness, difference in their products”Chau emphasized.

Recalling the process of embarking on the jewelry field, from the first days with “special” guests in the Netherlands, after more than 4 years, Chau has now had a good source of customers in Vietnam. This is her motivation to constantly improve and improve services. Customers come to her jewelry brand because of the prestige and quality she built herself. Because, when doing anything, Chau always puts the prestige and desire of consumers first.

Currently, Chau is focusing on business, jewelry design and wishes to design products from his acquisition of knowledge from Western cultures after years of studying in “their country”. spread to all customers in Vietnam. “I want to build a brand not only for myself, but also for Vietnam’s jewelry market. In the coming time, I will consider, consider and learn many things from other big jewelry brands. of Vietnam, because this is the jewelry industry – it takes meticulousness and takes a lot of time and effort to create trust with customers. impossible to ignore”she said.

The young woman was quite interested in Confucius’s saying, “it doesn’t matter how slow you go, as long as you never stop”. “If I had to go back to my choice, I would still choose the jewelry business, sooner or later”Chau concluded.
