Older brotherMinnie Katzen Mayer, 36, has a habit of hiding under desks at work to hide from the light from ceiling lights, noise or arguments with colleagues.
The woman from Israel, working in the UK, shared a photo of herself sitting under a table in April this year and immediately became the subject of discussion for tens of thousands of people on social networks.
“I’m an adult but I like to work under a desk, although the office chair is quite comfortable,” Mayer, who works in product marketing, wrote on her personal page. “I feel at peace when isolated from the outside world.”

On social networks, the majority expressed their agreement, especially the group of people who are used to working online, now have to return to the office after two years of the epidemic.

A recent survey by the UK Office for National Statistics found that more than 56% of unemployed people do not want to return to work, or if they do, ask to work from home. Among those over 40, 45% said they wanted to continue working remotely after the pandemic, compared with 30% for those under 40.
But others believe that the female office worker has overreacted.
As for Mayer, she feels lucky to have the best working environment by her superiors. Colleagues also always respect her decision. “Sometimes they still look at me with curious eyes, there are also many teasing questions. But most of them are quite interested and want to try to hide under the table like me”, she laughed.
