The policeman helps the pregnant woman pass labor by the roadside

At that moment, lieutenant Luong Van Thach, 28 years old, police officer of Nam Can commune, Ky Son district came, saw that Bi and her husband were panicking, so they approached to inquire. The pregnant woman quickly informed the situation and said that it was 15 km before she reached the hospital, she could not try anymore.

Lieutenant Thach decided to use a towel as a pillow, cover the pregnant woman with blankets and liners, and start supporting the labor process. He also contacted the Nam Can commune health station for help.

The third time giving birth, Ms. Bi also had experience, combined with the support of Mr. Thach, after 20 minutes, a baby boy weighing about 3 kg was born crying. At this time, health workers from Nam Can commune also came to the place, helping to cut the umbilical cord and check the health of pregnant women and babies.

“The baby’s cry clears the tense atmosphere. I remember the feeling of happiness when I held him in my arms. Everyone just looked at each other and laughed,” the communal policeman shared.

Lieutenant Thach added that this was the first time he delivered, so he was both scared and trembling. Worried that the delay would affect the life of the mother and baby, he decided to follow the theory he had been trained in. Luckily everything went well.

At more than 3pm on the same day, Ms. Bi and her husband brought their children home after their health stabilized. Before leaving, the family offered to send a thank you gift, but Mr. Thach refused.

A day after the story of helping pregnant women pass through labor went viral on social media, Mr. Thach said he was surprised when many people paid attention and gave praise. “Anyone in that situation will do the same, nothing too big. I’m very happy when the mother is round and the child is square. Next time I will visit my family,” he laughed.

The leader of the Nam Can commune police confirmed the above incident and said that Lieutenant Luong Van Thach was a regular police officer who had returned to the commune to receive enhanced duties for many years. “Comrade Thach is sociable, always actively participating in activities, helping people and completing his assigned work,” the leader said.
