The richest but abandoned, now becoming a “green pearl” that is sought after by tourists

China has an “unfortunate” village, once the richest village in China, but also because of that, it was later abandoned, becoming a “ghost village” without a shadow.

Hautouwan Village in Zhejiang Province is a famous tourist mecca of China and a leading center of fishery development in the Zhoushan city area.

Visitors coming here will discover, in addition to the enchanting scenery, there are many houses standing on the beach, which look quite old but uninhabited. Many people feel very regretful, because anyway, such a house near the sea, if it is in the city, it is definitely worth the property. But the house here is abandoned, why is that?

In the 1950s, Hau Touwan Village was once a very prosperous fishing village in the northern part of Shengshan Bay, Zhejiang Province with more than 3,000 people. Because the fishing industry here is very developed, fishermen can earn a lot of money. Therefore, most people in the village own spacious houses, many of which are so big that they can also be considered genuine villas.

They can enjoy the calm days by the sunny and windy beach. However, many people soon realized that living here was too inconvenient, completely isolated from the modern world. Accordingly, the development of the village gradually lags behind the times, so they gradually leave their homeland to find a new land. Almost in the 1980s, many of the houses here became uninhabited. In just a few short years, it gradually turned into a ghost village.

Now, however, Hau Dau Loan village has become a popular tourist attraction. Many visitors from all over the world enjoy the abandoned houses. Dubbed a ghost village, Hau Dau Loan is not scary at all.

In 2015, Hau Dau Loan village was really known when photos of the green village were widely spread on social networks.

As time goes on, thanks to the cool temperate sea climate and abundant rain, the abandoned houses are covered with lush vines. Not only houses, green vines also grow along the rocky road and hills, weaving through every corner of the village. Everything seems to blend into the majestic mountain scenery that makes the desolate village become mysterious like being lost in the fairy world in movies and comics.

Referring to the abandoned village, people often think of a gloomy, creepy scene, covered by dark air and the sound of crows. But everything is the opposite in Hau Tou Loan. The village appears so beautiful and fresh, making anyone coming here as well as being immersed in nature and the vast sea to cleanse the soul.

The green village is located on the windy coast, extremely romantic, suitable for those who want to contemplate life and let go of fatigue.

The most ideal tourist season in Hau Dau Loan is summer. At this time, Thang Son Bay is calm with light waves, visitors can easily go to Thang Son Island. Summer is the time when the sea water is bluest. The creeping plants that cover the whole place are also greener than ever.

Because it is an abandoned village with no modern planning, traveling here is quite difficult. Accordingly, visitors should be equipped with specialized shoes to avoid tripping. Visitors are advised not to go into places with dangerous signs.

Hau Dau Loan appears as an emerald of Thang Son Bay. Although the village is “unhappy”, Hau Dau Loan is definitely an ideal place for people who want to leave the city to live a minimalist life and find happiness and peace.
