Vietnam U23 goalkeeper has to “patch” his gloves because of strange regulations at the 2022 AFC U23 Championship
Quan Van Chuan is the goalkeeper chosen to replace the injured Van Toan. He appeared with a pair of gloves covered with rather large tape, the purpose of which was to hide the brand’s logo on the gloves.
According to the regulations of the Asian Football Confederation as well as the World Football Federation (FIFA), the image of the brand on the player’s jersey at official tournaments must not be larger than 20cm. Quan Van Chuan used adhesive tape to comply with the regulations of the organizers.
Quan Van Chuan’s gloves are carefully glued
Quan Van Chuan played well in the second half of the match against Thailand U23 and most of the time against Korea U23. However, he still could not keep a clean sheet before the opponent’s continuous attacks. U23 Vietnam’s defense is not really sure in times of pressure. However, the players also gave their best and played the most fiercely.
With what he has shown, Quan Van Chuan shows that he is worthy of the main position in the wooden frame of U23 Vietnam when Van Toan has not been able to play.
