Ancient treasures in Can Tho, including Honda 67 Trinh Cong Son used to run

Mr. Nguyen An Ha’s house (Binh Thuy district, Can Tho city) is displaying about 11 unique collections such as: traffic cars, old Southern Ao Dai; press collection through the periods; ceramics… These are considered priceless “treasures”.

In particular, Mr. Ha also owns a souvenir car of musician Trinh Cong Son and a Honda of GS.TS Vo Tong Xuan. “These are two typical memorabilia in the collection of ancient Southern traffic cars,” said Mr. Ha.

Ha shared, collecting the “legendary” car that the late talented musician Trinh Cong Son used to drive was something he could not have imagined. “In the past, this car was “scattered” everywhere. The reason is that musician Trinh Cong Son gave his younger brother a gift; After a while, the younger brother gave it to his nephew. Since then, musician Trinh Cong Son’s car has been attached to his nephew. Then my friend collected this unique car.

On a chance occasion, this friend shared the car with me. This car has a certificate, has a parrot, “said Mr. Ha.

According to Mr. Ha, this car is still running well. In 2015, the car was certified as an antique by the UNESCO Center for Research and Preservation of Vietnamese Antiquities. According to the certificate, the owner of the Honda 67 C50 is musician Trinh Cong Son. The origin of the car is in Japan and was manufactured in 1967.

“For a car that has gone through 40-50 years like this, I have to restore and repair it to be perfect for display,” said Ha.

According to Mr. Ha, the value of the car lies in its historical significance and memorabilia of a famous musician in Vietnam. “This car is priceless in terms of spirit and history,” said Ha, adding that he has no intention of selling this car.

As for the Honda Dame C50 car of Prof. Dr. Vo Tong Xuan, Mr. Ha said, this is the car that Can Tho University Institute (later Can Tho University) granted, when Mr. Xuan had just returned to work. . After that, the car “lost” and was collected by a friend of Mr. Ha. About 10 years ago, this friend shared it with Mr. Ha.

“In order to collect these unique cars, it is necessary to say the word “charm”, Mr. Ha added.

The aforementioned Honda Dame C50 was produced in 1965 and is certified antique in 2015.

In addition to the unique antique cars, inside Mr. Ha’s house there is also a rare collection of ancient costumes of the Southern people. Currently, Mr. Ha owns about 200 old ao dai; especially the costumes of the mandarins and the ao dai of the old lady of Can Tho. “I find and collect old Southern costumes to keep. These artifacts help the elderly nostalgic about the past, while the young will learn about the old culture, “said Mr. Ha.
