According to Newsweek, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has supported President Putin’s special military campaign from the very beginning. Mr. Kadyrov has regularly posted videos calling for the surrender of Ukrainian forces and even, sometimes, the Chechen leader even claims to be in Ukraine to directly fight with Russian forces.
“In the next few days you will see a real special activity,” Kadyrov said.
According to the Chechen leader, Russian forces will use “new tactics” in Ukraine in the coming days. This will help Russia achieve its campaign goals sooner.
“As a result, special operations will achieve results faster and more efficiently,” added Mr. Kadyrov.
The Chechen leader also sent a new warning to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, demanding that the Ukrainian leader surrender.
“I give Mr. Zelensky a final warning. Raise your hand and go out into the square with the words ‘Don’t shoot, guys, I surrender! Otherwise, he will die,” Kadyrov declared.
Last week, leader Kadyrov warned he was ready to order his fighters to attack Poland, saying the country “better to take back” the weapons it had supplied to Ukraine.
“After Ukraine, if we are in command, in six seconds we will show you what we are capable of,” Kadyrov told Poland.
Earlier this month, President Joe Biden announced that the US would send Ukraine more advanced weapons and missile systems to help Ukrainians “defend their territory against Russian advances”.
“We will continue to lead the world in support of Ukraine’s fight for freedom,” Biden said.
