Former Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long was arrested

On June 7, 2022, the Investigative Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security issued a Decision to supplement the Decision to prosecute the case of crime. Violation of regulations on management and use of state assets, causing loss and waste.

At the same time, issued Decisions to prosecute the accused, Orders to arrest the accused for temporary detention, Search orders for: (1) Mr. Chu Ngoc Anh, (2) Mr. Pham Cong Tac for the crime of “Violating regulations on management management and use of State property causing loss and waste”, specified in Clause 3, Article 219 of the Penal Code 2015, amended and supplemented in 2017; (3) Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long on the crime of “profit using positions and powers while performing their official duties”, specified in Clause 3, Article 356 of the 2015 Penal Code, as amended in 2017.

After the Supreme People’s Procuracy approved it, the Investigative Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security implemented the above decisions and orders in accordance with law. Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security is continuing to investigate and expand the case; review, distraint and blockade the objects’ properties to ensure thorough recovery for the State.
