Revealed image of self-propelled artillery M109 Norway transferred to Ukraine

The 72nd Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian army has recently been trained in how to use the M109 self-propelled howitzer from Norway.

The Defense Blog page, citing a source from the Kyiv Independent news agency, said that the Norwegian government had sent about 20 masks self-propelled guns M109A3NG for the Ukrainian army. At least four of them were deployed to Kiev to train Ukrainian soldiers on how to operate.

M109 is a self-propelled howitzer designed by BAE Systems Platforms & Services, a subsidiary of BAE Systems Corporation, and put into service in the US Army since 1963. As of 2013, this gun has 13 copies. Various upgrades.

M109 weighs 24.07 tons; 9.12m long including barrel; 3.15m wide; 3.28m high. The cannon’s ability to raise the barrel angle is in the range of 3 to 75 degrees, and the maximum rate of fire is 4 rounds per minute.

M109 uses M126 ammunition with a maximum range of 14.6km. With the increased range ammunition, the artillery’s range will be increased to 20km. The life of the M109 cannon can reach more than 7,500 rounds. In addition, on the roof of the vehicle is also equipped with a machine gun using 12.7 x 99mm NATO ammunition with a base of 500 rounds to fight enemy infantry.
