“I promised that if we got promoted, back in La Liga, I would make the trip to Santiago de Compostela. I would do it by bike, because I couldn’t run.” Ronaldo said.

Ronaldo owns 82% of Valladolid’s shares since 2018. The season 2020-2021, when the club dropped from La Liga relegated to the second division of Spanish football, the 46-year-old player promised to make a trip from Valladolid to Santiago de Compostela if the club returned. Last season, Valladolid won promotion when ranked second in the Second Division.
Ronaldo and his wife started cycling from the stadium of Valladolid, Jose Zorrilla on Sunday 5/6. Every day, they will travel several tens of kilometers on the pilgrimage route leading to the famous temple in northwestern Spain. Total distance is about 450 km.
“The trip will be great. I know I will have physical difficulties, but it will be an unforgettable experience,” Ronaldo confirmed.
In addition to Valladolid, Ronaldo also owns shares in the boyhood club Cruzeiro (Brazil). The former famous player retired from the game in 2011, after 18 years of peak.
