During the interview, Park Jeong-in repeatedly apologized to Korean fans for not meeting expectations. He emphasized: “I will play my best in the remaining match of the group stage.”

Before the Vietnamese U23 defense, the striker born in 2000 had at least two missed opportunities to eat. Once he broke the offside trap but handled it slowly so that Thanh Binh could cut the ball in time, the other time was a header that went wide of the goal in a favorable position.

Park Jeong-in continued: “I kept having chances but I missed them. So I started to worry. If I can’t score, I’ll be in trouble. In the match against Vietnam U23, I was in a bit of a hurry before the game, lost his temper. If you’re a striker, you shouldn’t be.”

Korea U23 opened the scoring in the 63rd minute thanks to Cho Young-wook. However, Lee Jin-yong’s red card in the 78th minute turned the game around. In the 83rd minute, Vu Tien Long scored a 1-1 equalizer for Vietnam U23, pushing U23 Korea into a position to win in the last match.

After the match, Park Jeong-in received negative comments from fans. He was dead in the first two matches at the 2022 AFC U23 Championship final.

“I think it’s worth what I’m going through. I think it’s part of the fun. It’s okay, I’m grateful to the fans for the interest,” said Busan striker I Park FC. .

Assessing the cause, Park Jeong-in said that the Korean U23 has not yet had the cohesion between the midfield and the striker: “We are still in the stage of getting to know each other and the style of play that the players are suitable for. I’m different individuals so it’s important to find a connection as quickly as possible. We haven’t had a lot of time together yet.”

Korea U23 is ranked second in Group C with 4 points after two matches, equal to Thailand U23 but ranked behind due to poor sub-index (goals). The two teams will face each other in the final match on June 8. The winning team will advance to the quarterfinals. If it is a draw or loss, U23 Korea must wait for the results from the match U23 Vietnam – U23 Malaysia.

Park Jeong-in expressed determination: “We have to win at all costs. Winning the team is more important than the desire to score. Being eliminated in the group stage has never been on our minds. Neither The team will do their best.”
