Guangxi province located in Southern China has always been famous for its beautiful scenic spots. Many places are also known as “The fairyland of the world”. However, in such a beautiful place, there is a “monster”, or a strange lake that hides an extremely scary secret.
This “monster talk” is called Ba Dinh lake, located in Ba Dinh village in Do An district, Guangxi province. Ba Dinh Lake is deep and bottomless, although it is clear and beautiful, nothing special, but in the eyes of local people, it is a lake with no fairyland at all. Why is that?
Black shadow under Ba Dinh lake
According to local people, in Ba Dinh lake there was a black shadow, it was not clear what it was. Once, a large water buffalo weighing several hundred pounds fell into a lake. When the villagers were about to pull up, they found a black shadow in the water pulling the buffalo deeper. The buffalo could not resist, so it sank to the bottom of the deep lake.

Experts were led by villagers to Ba Dinh lake, using a specialized rope 100 meters long, but still could not measure the depth of the lake. Finally, a group of explorers decided to send divers down to find out.

Rescuers searched for three days before finding his body 100 meters below the lake. From then on, no one dared to enter this lake arbitrarily. The expert involved wanted to investigate the truth of Ba Dinh lake, which caused fear in the hearts of local people once again to rise.
Truth revealed
After the villagers told stories related to Ba Dinh lake to the expedition team, the group of divers decided to dive down from the southern area of the lake.
They have prepared underwater lighting devices, because the deeper they dive, the weaker the light in the lake becomes. At a depth of about 20 meters underwater, divers found a school of small fish. This proves that the ecological environment in the lake is still developing normally.
After descending more than a few dozen meters, the group of divers judged that the lake was likely an underground river based on the terrain in the lake bed. Since they had run out of oxygen, the divers had to mark the place they had checked and return to shore.
But what is the black shadow in the lake? With this question in mind, the group of divers decided to go into the water a second time to find the answer.
After diving to a depth of about 90 meters, divers spotted a black figure swimming in the corner of the rock. After looking at the flashlight, they discovered that it was actually a large catfish, about 1.5m long, with a golden body. This large yellow catfish has stunned divers.

The divers speculated that the shadow seen by the villagers could be a catfish. But this fish is not capable of pulling a large buffalo into the water.
However, the disappearance of the buffalo is still a mystery. Some people think that under Ba Dinh Lake there are other big “water monsters” living, but all is just speculation.
The secret of the lake has also been solved. The expedition team believes that the lake was originally just a deep hole. After a long time of being eroded by rain water, the depth of the pit continued to increase and was connected to the underground river. Accordingly, groundwater rises to form a bottomless deep lake.
