A 24-year-old girl living in the state of Gujarat (India), named Kshama Bindu will marry herself on June 11 here.

Kshama Bindu says she doesn’t want get married but wanted to wear a bride’s dress, so she made a special decision. This type of marriage is called a solo marriage.

Kshama graduated with a degree in sociology and now works as a senior recruitment officer for a private company. Her parents are both engineers. While most girls dream of a groom in a suit clutching his hand at the ceremony, Kshama is different. She found the groom of her life to be… herself.

Her wedding preparations are almost done. She even ordered a Lehenga (traditional dress) for herself and distributed wedding invitations to friends. On the wedding card only the name of the bride. Before that, she used to spend a lot of time convincing her parents to accept her daughter’s decision.

It is known that Kshama Bindu’s wedding to herself was the first in India. “People marry who they love. I love myself so I will marry myself,” Kshama Bindu said.

“What does it mean to be married to yourself, I really don’t understand,” one net user commented. Someone said: “You can live with yourself, there is no need to get married like that”.

Although sologamy appeared many years ago and became a trend among young people in many countries, in India, this concept is still quite new.

The 24-year-old girl said, will comply with all the stages of the wedding like a traditional Hindu wedding, including pheras – an important ceremony, to the oath and the honeymoon.

Legal experts also say that the practice of “marrying yourself” is not legal in India.
