“Volunteer in the highlands 2022” with students of National Economics University

At the beginning of last June, Team Volunteer student compatriot Hai Duong from the Student Union of National Economics University set out to Ban Mu commune, Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province to organize the program “Volunteer in the highlands 2022”, with the aim of sharing the what difficulties for local people and students. It is known that Ban Mu commune is a difficult locality of Yen Bai province, many households do not have stable jobs, and their lives are precarious. After 2 years of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic burden was even heavier, and the children had to give up their studies because of their poverty and hardship.

Immediately after arriving at the locality, the students carried out volunteering and cleaning activities to prepare for the program such as cleaning and giving gifts to disadvantaged households, cleaning the roads. villages, alleys, renovating the elementary school campus.

On the afternoon and evening of June 4, the student volunteer team organized a program to give gifts to disadvantaged children and children with excellent academic achievements. Many other practical activities such as free haircuts, organizing games… created a vibrant and excited atmosphere, bringing the most innocent laughter to the children. In addition, it is worth mentioning the “No copper stall”, attracting the attention of many people. Through the stall, the young people provided many essential foods, clothes, … for the people.

In the evening of the same day, the young people organized the program “Highland music night” with many attractive performances for the people of Ban Mu commune. With careful preparation, the Team has brought people exciting moments, full of joy and excitement.

During the program, the Student Volunteer Team gave 3 gifts to 3 poor households in Ban Mu commune, Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province; each meal is worth 500 thousand VND. In addition, the team also gave 114 gifts to 5th grade students, each worth more than 150,000 VND. Many other artifacts were also donated to the school such as textbooks, comics, desktop computers, etc. The team also handed over a budget of 10 million VND to support the construction of Youth Works and gave 1000’s to the People’s Committee of Ban Mu Commune. green trees. All are sponsored by benefactors from many parts of Vietnam.
