“The Heart Institute strongly opposes this act of profiteering, if it happens. The Heart Institute was established with the goal of saving patients and performing charity work,” the report stated.
Initially, through the examination, the Heart Institute said that it has not been determined that there is any connection of the staff of the Heart Institute with Mr. Huynh Trong An. The Heart Institute has shortcomings in managing people who come to charity as well as not doing a good job in informing the patient’s family about not having to pay “retirement costs” for blood donors.
The Heart Institute will conduct a review and seriously handle the relevant individuals and departments in order to immediately prevent similar acts of profiteering.
Also in the report, the Heart Institute stated that in 2021, it supported 169 disadvantaged patients to receive heart surgery and inpatient treatment with a total amount of assistance equivalent to 9.7 billion VND, accounting for 21 .8% of total hospital fees collected. Sources of support from the Alain Carpentier Association, from the Heart Institute and other sponsors, sponsors, organizations, foundations/sponsorships.
