The head of the military-civilian administration of Melitopol Galina Danilchenko announced the start of preparations for a referendum on the merger with Russia.

“We know that our future is only with Russia, the Russian Federation is here forever. We are starting to prepare for a referendum,” she said, according to the city government’s Telegram channel. and reported by TASS.

Meanwhile, Zaporizhzhia district government representative Vladimir Rogov also said that the referendum for the annexation of this region to Russia will take place in 2022. Preparations for the referendum have begun and will last several months. .

Rogov says that up to 80% of Zaporizhzhia’s population is in favor of merging with Russia.

Sergey Kiriyenko, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of Russia, visited Melitopol and Zaporizhzhia on June 7.
