A 13cm long perch jumps into a man’s throat in Thailand

The perch jumped out of the water, accidentally burrowed into the mouth and throat of a fisherman in Thailand.

Doctors at Phatthalung Hospital were baffled when a CT scan showed this unbelievable story to be true.

The team of doctors at Phatthalung Hospital, with the participation of 2 doctors and 3 nurses, took more than 1 hour of surgery to get the baby perch out of the patient’s respiratory tract on May 22, according to Metro.

“The doctors did their best to minimize the patient’s organ injuries,” said Dr. Sermsri Pathompanichrat, Phatthalung Hospital.

The fish nearly 13 cm long was pulled out of the patient’s throat and nasal cavity.

stood up to breathe air, the fish jumped out of the water and burrowed into the mouth and throat, leading to difficulty breathing.

When he was taken to the hospital, he was gasping for breath due to the stiff seal of the fish throat mine. When he arrived at the hospital, the fish had crawled from the throat to the nasal cavity.

Pathompanichrat Hospital staff added: “The chance of such an accident is very low. I have never seen such a case.”

The fisherman is currently in a stable condition, recovering at the hospital.
